<< Just a thought...I just joined, and may have missed all of your messages,
but in case this has not been mentioned, did you check the boot order in the
BIOS Features Setup...i.e.: is it set to boot from CD? Not A, C
 drives as it should be?

--- thanks Marg, but I even set all 3 choices to A hoping to 'beat' the IBM
program that seems to be unremovable or cooperative. I figured it would be
nice to let IBM FDISK and format there drive and then install 98SE but after
it pretties up the drive it wont recognize the Windows CD. And when I boot
it, it goes right to non-bootable CD after the 'pool' check. I cant get to a
'clean' prompt. I removed the drive and am going to FDISK and format it in
this machine. My only worry is when I put the 'new' drive in as a slave here
how will I know I'm fdisking the right hard drive!!!>??
Thanks all,
