I have three of the Logitech wheel mouses and love them.  However I had
some compatibility problems with the newer drivers.  I tried upgrading a
couple of times but eventually went back to my original drivers.  If you
still have the disks from your old mouse, you could try installing those
drivers and see if the problem still exists.
