  I've never had one that wouldn't run at the settings screened on the
CPU.  But also note that those won't add up to the "PR rating" of the
chip; for instance, I believe the PR266 is specced to run at 3.0x75
(225 MHz) and not 266 MHz....

  My local Fry's sells a "Pentium" heatsink/fan that is 25mm high, and
a "K6" heatsink/fan almost identical but 35mm high.  I use the latter
on Cyrix CPUs; they *do* tend to run a bit hotter than Intel, and that
*can* lead to bluescreens if they get too hot.
  It can also be a good idea to apply a THIN layer of heat-sink
grease[*] between the top of the CPU and the bottom of the heatsink.
This will fill in any air gaps -- air is a good thermal insulator, and
the grease is a pretty good thermal conductor.

[*]  You can get a little tube -- a lifetime supply! -- from Radio
Shack for about $2.95.  When I say THIN -- you should be able to read
the lettering on the CPU package through it....
