I know how you feel. I would love to dump Windows and move to Linux.
I know they have Wine, which I assume is a Windows emulator on which I
could run my mail/newsreader, but will it run all my favorite
Windows98 programs, or does it just happen to work well with Agent?
What about my Winmodem? Will a winmodem work under Wine?
Furthermore, I have a lot of customizations I've installed to Internet
Explorer. Does the Linux Netscape have as many of those well used
features?

I may give Linux a try once I get my satellite internet access up and
running. But even then, I'll need a partition with Win98 so I can
play games and things like that.
