One thing I have heard of sounds like it might come in handy for you. If you get a computer cleaned, updated, and right the way you want it, make a CD or DVD copy of the hard drive (called disk cloning) for restoration. The college I used to attend used to wipe out and reinstall everything every evening on the entire network. The only exception was a single server that required faculty credentials to access and was heavily protected. Even that one was strictly controlled.

If you set yourself a schedule so that the computers are restored every so often, then it can save you a lot of headaches later. If I ever get the computer at home for the kids to use, that is what I am going to do. It will completely restored from a clone every week. The kids will need to use their own flash drives to store their data.

Thanks for the warning Don. You mentioned a fix for the link, can you give me the URL        so that I can install it. Virtumonde is rampant in my main computer & when I put my #2unit
(an IBM desktop ) on line via my router!!! then my #3, a Compaq desktop I was using clean 
the other drives!  Now here is a dandy!! I am in a seniors building (260 apts ) & through the 
Ontario government we got 10 complete computer stations, all IBM desktops off lease.
I do the programing, defragmenting, connecting etc. I've started installing SpybotS&D in the
units & when I did a scan on the first 2, Virtumonde was there!!! We have had these units about a 1 1/.2 years & they are only used for 2 hours on a Wednesday afternoon!!! When a
 computer goes weird, these operators don't know what to do, so that fix will be much appreciated.   Thank you,   Al Smith
