  Yes, I believe you can run additional scsi devices.
 I bought a Microtek E3 (around $150) and the scsi card was a cheap
  Adaptek card (AVA-1502).Be careful when looking at E3s,
 Chumpusa sells one that is parallel port instead of scsi.

   I don't think the scanner manufacturer will tell you
  the card will support more scsi devices cause they don't want
  to hassle with support.
   I don't see any reason why you can't as long as the end device
 is properly terminated.
