Hello Mike,

More information on the model would be helpful. You can try setting the BIOS
to the default configuration. This procedure may, or may not, apply to your
particular model. Press the F1 key when "Press F1 for IBM BIOS Setup
Utility" message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen on
startup. The IBM BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If a password
prompt appears, type the correct password. Press the "F9" key to load the
default configuration. Select "Yes". Press the "F10" key to save default
configuration. Select "Yes". The system will restart automatically.

If this doesn't help, try updating the BIOS and any drivers to the latest
versions. Good luck.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Windows 2000 NT

I have an IBM Thinkpad which had a virus. I have Windows 2000 NT installed.
I formatted the hard drive, then partitioned it and then reformatted it
again, but I still get a Windows 2000 NT startup screen and blue screen
crash which says I have a Kernel Exception?!?!?

I want to install a clean version of Windows XP, but the system will not let
me get past the startup, even going through Safemode or any other startup
mode, including starting up with the Windows XP Disk in the CD Rom
drive...still starts up in Windows2000...any ideas on how to correct this
and start with a FRESH version of Windows on this hard drive??

Mike
