A collegue was working on a laptop using a battey only. As the power ran
low I pugged on the dc power 19.4 V. The brightness on the LCD increased
and as expected when I removed the power it the brightness reduced
again. Surprisingly when I reconnected the power there was no change in
the intensity. My collegue comtinued working until the battery was
completely drained. Now the laptop can not power up. The LED indicator
for battery shows orange while while the LED for mains does not light.
My assumption is that battery no longer recieves power from mains due a
defective component (likely to have been damaged when the adapter plug
was pushed in and out). Is my assumption correct? can this fault be
rectified?
