Hi again listers,

The ram that was in the 1997 Dell, I was putting in a Gateway G6-400 of also a 1997 machine and in an IBM Aptiva from 1998. The IBM read most of the ram while the Gateway read only a few strips. I know that each machine can handle insertion of 1 ram strip as it only has 3 slots, and I know it can handle the pc 100 but not the PC 133 and defintely not the one with gold edge ( that one was too modern and smoked on one machine). As of now I am leaving the slot empty in case any damaged occurred.
The one web page that I found that did help me a tad was
http://home.earthlink.net/~mrob/pub/sdram.html
