I do know about the slight noise created by a spinning CD but this is loud enough to be uncomfortabler and not at the normal decibels of a spinning CD.

The CD drive does not spin unless there is a CD in it. When you place a CD in the drive, there will be a slight noise and vibration created by the drive spinning. In my experience this is normal.
