Were both motherboards the same model? And if so, were they the same revision number? Have you tried running the motherboard drivers from the disk that presumably came with the new mobo?

Subject: [PCBUILD] Problem usuing Internet Explorer and Outlook Express

I have been experiencing a problem that baffles me.

The motherboard on the computer failed (leaking capacitors). I replaced the
mobo and fired up the computer. The OS is Win XP Pro.

Everyting looked fine except that I cannot surf nor can I send or receive
e-mail. I can connect with my ISP and the netwrok card is working fine.

I am thinking that I should re-install Win XP and Outlook Express. Would
installing another browser, i.e., Opera and another e-mail client, say
Eudora or Pegasus make any diference?

I have asked the ISP for assistance and we rinstalled the dial up connection
many times but that did not help.

  Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
