Susan, sorry for all your problems!  I have known some people who work out 
an arrangement with a local farmer in which they actually "buy" an animal - 
or part of that animal.  Sometimes they go in with friends on the purchase 
of the animal, i.e. 1/4 or 1/2.

In such a deal the farmer takes a down payment, raises the animal for you as 
you want.

Just an idea.

Otherwise,  totally grass fed meats are available online; they are shipped 
to your house.  They are expensive though.

I eat a lot of wild caught Alaskan fish for protein and Omega 3s.  You 
probably do too.
