There are plenty of studies that show that extra
weight (unless you are incredibly
obese) gives you a decreased mortality as
compared to thin people.  I am thin so
I don't have any barrow to push.  It seems to be
a bit of a myth that losing weight
is healthy (unless you are so overweight that it
is interfering with your life).
