I'm a newbie and am loving this way of life except for one thing: cutting out soy. While I don't gorge on soy all day long, I find that a little bit helps me lose weight. My breakfast is usually unsweetened soy milk with a little ground flaxseed and a few blueberries. I also add a bit of unsweetened soy milk to green tea throughout the day. Occassionally, I will have dry roasted soy nuts or a bit of pressed tofu + veggies. I find that dried soybeans are much lower in calories than nuts and have tons of fiber. If I snack on pure paleo snacks such as nuts and fruits, my weight loss absolutely stalls. (Soy does not put me out of ketosis the way fruit does.) This does not happen with soy. Also, given that everyone in my family has diabetes except for me, I feel that I should keep fruit sugar to a minimum. BTW, lunch and dinner consist of veggies and meat, fish or poultry. Any other paleos having trouble cutting out soy???
