I have been experiencing daily headaches (along my forehead), upper back
pain, and a dull, persistent pain in my calves. I saw a DO yesterday who is
checking for heavy metals as well as some other stuff. I also saw a
chiropractor who adjusted my back and used estim and ultrasound. She also
suggested getting massages and asked me to get some x-rays of my back today
( to check for arthritic degeneration) and then come back to see her with
the x-ray results. Both docs noted how incredibly tight not only my upper
back is but also my neck and my entire back. The DO said it could be
fibromyalgia. Incidentally, because I have so many food intolerances and my
food choices are limited, I have been eating grains occasionally such as
oat, potato, quinoa, millet, and corn.

I am also experiencing sensitivity to hot/cold and when chewing hard foods
on two of my crowns. One was put in a month ago in Germany. The dentist
there tells me it's normal to experience sensitivity to hot/cold and when
chewing hard foods for weeks/months after having a crown put in. The dentist
here tells me the root is infected (on the newer one) and I need a root
canal. The other one, and this one bothers me more, was put in about 5
months ago by the dentist who is recommending the root canal on the other
one.

Last but not least, I have been using a Swiss ball to sit on in front of the
computer and noticed today that I have been raising my shoulders up to type
because the keyboard is so high. I also notice at times when I should be
relaxing (watching TV, knitting) my shoulders are raised versus relaxed.

So here is what I would love your opinions on:

1. Could the sitting position be causing the back and head pain? If so, how
does the pain in my calves fit in?
2. Could the problems with my teeth be causing the back and head pain and if
so, how does the pain in my calves fit in?
3. Could the increase in grains be the cause (I am pretty sure I know what
the answer to this one is)? If so, how does the pain in my calves fit in?
4. Would you get an x-ray?
5. Has anybody here been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and if so, has paleo
helped? What else are you doing besides paleo if anything?
6. Thoughts on a root canal versus tooth extraction and a bridge.
7. Could the problem with my head/back be causing the problems with my teeth
or could the grains be causing problems with my teeth?

It's all very confusing and very, very frustrating. Thanks in advance for
any input.

Kristina
