Anyone who has ever seen a documentary on chimps catching and eating
other monkees will know how they managed. Ever seen the doc in which the
chips go out to raid rivals of another group? They very quietly stalk
and attack a single male from the other group. The have murder in their
eyes and can tear the bugger limb to limb.
So the possibility of early humans eating meat without cooking it is not
so remote. If you can catch it, you can eat it.
