I used a wooden mortar and pestle.  I'm not sure why I even own
such a thing; I think it was one of those ornamental kitchen gift
things.

Another way is to place the roasted seeds between sheets of
plastic wrap then crush them with a rolling pin.  I used to use
this method for crushing grains when I made home brew (alas).  If
the seeds are well toasted, they crush readily.  In their raw
state they are somewhat waxy.
