Yes, but a *totally* different kind of fruit --- one very, very low in glycemic load.  Even in regions where it was available often, fruit would have been supplemental to the diet, I believe.  I wonder, volume wise, how much of the low glycemic (and probably relatively sour) fruits have had to been consumed to get a person out of ketosis.
