As a former keeper of several generations of beloved hamsters I would like
to strongly raise my objections here.
Please stick to dogs and cats and other pets.

Or rats.

If you want rodents, I think it would be easy to breed some tasty rats.
It's cheap to buy a bag of organic grain, inexpensive and making a good
living for the rats. Somehow I recall that rats were even very good adapted
to grain-eating.
So it shouldn't be a problem to choose between grain-fed rats or
pasture fed rats.
Indeed I think that rats wouldn't be keen on to be fed with pasture.

But please don't consider hamsters.

regards

Amadeus
