This does not go on indefinitely though. Mine too ate me out of house and
home for about 9 months - and no matter how much I fed, they were skinny.
Eventually, they started to gain weight and I was able to back off on the
food, particularly the raw meat. It's been a lot less expensive to feed
them this year than last! I think it may have something to do with "fat
adaptation", the adjustment to getting calories from mostly fat and some
protein, rather than carbs.

FWIW, *all* my dogs now maintain a nice weight on BARF. On commercial foods
I had a terrible time with skinny dogs and some of them could never
maintain a normal weight.
