I think the question of eating sugar comes from the long processing that it
goes through to make it something that is, in large amounts, foriegn to our
bodies.

I don't think the question is whether or not the Paleo people ate sweets or
not.  I would think that they did that they did, but they were more of a
natural form and probably not an every day or every meal experience.  Also
not everything in their lives contained it as in our lives today.  I doubt
that there is a processed product out there that does not contain sugar in
some form or manner.
