I was on the paleo WOE for about 2 years and lost 111 pounds and I felt good. I
was happy much of the time but depression always seemed to be on the horizon. I

have had serious, severe, recurrent depression for about 6 years now. I felt
the best when paleo.

Then about 3 1/2 months ago I decided that I could go on vacation for a week
and eat anything that was served or anything I wanted. Just for one week and
then I would go back to paleo, right? Well, 2 months later I was compulsively
eating wheat about every 2 hours and I had gained 51 pounds. It was SAD with a
vengeance for me. I was eating everything that is not paleo including chips,
coke, candy bars etc. My depression started to get worse.

For the last few weeks I have given up the wheat and all other non paleo foods
except a small amount of dairy and I feel much better.
For the last two weeks I have also been drinking 1+ gallons of water per
day
and I feel that it has made a big difference in relieving the depression.
I got the idea of drinking the water from reading "Your Body's Many Cries for
Water" by F. Batmanghelidj, M.D. Has anyone read this book? Does anyone have
any experience with drinking large quantities of water?

Michael
