Jean-Luis and Todd,

Interestingly, KETONES will stimulate insulin secretion.  This is a protective
feedback mechanism that keeps ketoacidosis from becoming problematic.

Since Type I diabetics cannot produce insulin, run away ketoacidosis can
become life threatening.
