I would disagree in this respect: Understanding evolution is significant to
the paleo diet because we have not evolved to thrive on a carbohydrate rich,
sedentary lifestyle that most Americans lead.

Although as I write this I realize that most of the diseases due to a non
Paleolithic diet affect us occur after we reproduce.
Anyhow, since nutrition is one of the driving forces of evolution,
understanding evolution is a part of understanding why the Paleo Diet is the way to eat.
That's why many of us are on this list after all.
