Hi Robin,
The data against red meats is, in every research report I've read that 
finds problems associated with red meat consumption, based on 
information gathered about processed meats. These researchers seem to 
think that it may all legitimately be called "red meats" despite the 
fact that much of it has been highly processed and contains all manner 
of chemicals and allergenic additives.

The anti-fat mantra is based on a lot of B.S. Please read Gary Taubes' 
"Good Calories Bad Calories" for a more scientifically sound 
perspective. Inflammation is not usually the result of eating fats 
whether saturated or unsaturated. Trans fats are another story, but I 
doubt that your doctor differentiated between these when he recommended 
that you reduce your fat intake. .
