IMHO Tea tree oil is a lousy product. It is highly toxic- being about
as
toxic as eucalyptus oil, which is quite deadly. It causes nasty
reactions on
denuded skin or dermatitis prone skin. How can something that is more
toxic
than gasoline be good for you? Who knows. Keep it out of reach of
children.
It's produced by the bucketload in Australia. It's a cheap product, so
manufaturers love it, and have tired to create a mystique about it-
just the
same as soybeans! I'm sure the fatty acids in tea tree are of no
biological
use to humans, just like eucalyptus, therefore how can they help?
Makes you
feel like you're doing something, but you're probably being
counterproductive.

Unfortunately, everyone wants to fiddle and interfere with their
conditons.
If you don't want to use drugs, just use a bit of steam and let mother
nature take its course- after all, this will usually resolve the
problem
quicker. It's hard to be patient when you're feeling sick, but many
manoeuvres will actually prolong the illness rather than shorten it.
