Geoff, The "sugar " in raw sugar cane is at a concentration that is similar to
the "sugar"
in fruits.  At this level it will not cause cavities in your teeth if you chew
on a stalk.  A dentist, I think his name was Price, made a study on food
habits and tooth problems and stated that sugar beets and sugar cane eaten in
their natural state would not cause harm to the teeth.  Now after humans in
their infinite wisdom crush them, grind them, boil them until they are
concentrated into "Table [granulated) sugar "you have very bad food that will
cause all sorts of problems.  Jerry the almost raw food nut.
