Yes, I agree, and I would be surprised if a Paleo diet completely cured a
case of advanced bunions (though I wouldn't rule out the possibility, since
I have seen some amazing things), but I also wouldn't expect the first
noticeable symptoms of bunions to occur AFTER starting a Paleo diet and to
advance to a serious case. This tells me there is likely a modern/agrarian
food (grains, dairy, legumes, starchy tubers, etc.) still in your diet that
is causing problems. That is one of the useful things about Paleolithic
nutrition--it can be used to make predictions. When someone has symptoms of
one of the disorders of civilization we can predict that they likely have
been eating some of the modern foods.
