I thought that his was more of an anabolic diet, with
high fat/protein and very low carb for 5 days and then high
carb for 2 days.
Or was this a "maintenance phase" and then low carb to cut up?

For me, I've found the steady state of about 40%-F 40%-P 20%-C
(+ or - a few %)
to be about right to stay pretty cut all the time and have all the
energy I need. I think a steady state with much higher %-C wouldn't work.
