Sigh. I stepped on the scale this a.m. and found that I've slipped to 95 lbs. I really don't want to go into another Michigan winter under 100 lbs. I weighed about 108 lbs. this time last year.

I want to stay paleo, but am having a really difficult time maintaining weight. Without complex carbs in my diet - so many of which seem to be New World foods - I'm not sure what to do.

My blood type is A; if I increase red meat, my cholesterol jumps up. So, I eat a lot of chicken, turkey, ham, pork, fish; plenty of veggies, nuts, berries, good oils. I've added a little yogurt (no sugar), some sprouted bread and some farmer cheese. Still dropping weight.

Any thoughts on how I can increase my weight without adding more meat? Exercise is pretty much out because I have post-polio and have not been able to find any exercise, other than warm pool therapy, that I can do. Muscle building through exercise is not an option.

I'm almost ready to go naked with my sharp stick into the grocery store and buy potatoes, cornbread, winter squash, etc. Wondering if I should try peanuts... I spent a few days with my son in Cleveland last month and gained several pounds just by going off diet. Still, I'd like to stay as paleo as possible and yet gain. Perhaps this is not feasible.
TIA,
Kath
