This is not particularly 'Paleo', though I had a question in regards to sugars. I am sure someone on this list mentioned that one could find malto-dextrin via the home brewery section in a supermarket.. is this usually pure maltodextrin and OK to eat? I am attempting to construct an elemental type diet, and have to stick with simple forms of carbohydrates- such as dextrose,glucose,fructose- though malto-dextrin is apparently OK and good to use for longer term energy release. I noticed some expensive 'sports drinks' also simply consist of glucose/dextrose and some maltodextrin.. they seem to be the same ingredients?

Thanks a lot,
Dean.
