It occured to me that several on this list have mentioned
using tobacco. Not paleo, unless you happen to be American
Indian, but still the home grown stuff might not be as bad
as the heavily chemicalized commercial stuff. I have been
growing it for a couple of seasons, on my balcony. It is
pretty easy once you get the trick to starting it. If anyone
would like to give it a try, email me off the list and I can
give you a good reliable internet source for the seed, and a
few hints how to get started. The seed is cheap.
