I still have the book at home, but I remember the list of foods. They
are: watermelon, grapes, potato, rice, blueberries, raspberries,
grapefruit, pears, bananas, sweet potato, in no particular order. The
rule is, at a meal you may have as much meat as you like, plus one
"ordinary portion" of one of these foods, and that's it. For example, a
medium pear or banana or a half grapefruit are considered an ordinary
portion. For the rice or berries, it's about 3/4 cup. A medium potato
or sweet potato are considered ordinary portions, as is a single slice
of watermelon (i.e., a wedge about the size of a large slice of pizza).
Black unsweetened tea or coffee are allowed; no artificial sweeteners.
Alcohol in the form of distilled spirits is allowed, with no mixers
other than water. Spices and seasonings are allowed, if they have no sugar.

The diet is monotonous and hard to sustain, given the mysterious nature
of the list of foods. For me, at least, it's hard to stay on a diet
that I don't understand. But I wish you luck with it. As I wrote, I
lost weight very rapidly on it. When I counted up a typical day's
carbs, it came to 60g. I don't know what effect, if any, it had on my
cholesterol.
