Fresh fruit year round in subtropical or tropical
climates is available thanks only to the ingenuity of
mankind.

So. California is basically a desert and most of the crops
grown here are imported and not indigenous to the area.
Coconuts do not grow in Mediterranean climates.

But the overconsumption of sugars and starches is.
Consuming most of the fruits and tubers available today in
more than modest amounts will for a lot of people IMO only
compound this problem.
