Sorry Mark, I meant "expose the FILM for hot water a moment".

Most of the time I don't do that. I saute slices of the liver in lard,
together with the film, and eat the whole thing.

If the film is peeled off, it can be used as a beauty mask, a condom or a
cave window. Well, maybe not, but I think hunter gatherers used it somehow.
