I've been reading the recent posts about fasting and getting into ketosis
but i'm still a bit confused about a few things. Won't fasting slow down
your metabolism and make your body hold onto it's own fat because it's not
getting food for energy?

I don't know how many of you have read Dr Atkin's book, but in it he says
that your ease of getting into ketosis depends on the amount of fat you
eat and that you need to eat plenty of it to help get you into ketosis.

On the other hand Anorexic people practically eat nothing and they still
lose weight even though presumably their metabolism would have slowed down
too, so does that mean there must be a point when your body has to start
burning it's own fat for energy if you fast whether it wants to or not?
Is it best to fast or eat more fat to help with ketosis and weight loss?

Thank you for any help
Mel.
