No offense to anyone, but are some on this list seriously recommending that a diabetic consume concentrated sources of dietary carbohydrate, whether potatoes or plantains?  This seems like madness to me.  I would think a very low to zero carb, limited protein diet would be the ticket.  (Limited protein since amounts above about a hundred grams a day are simply converted to glucose via a process known as gluconeogenesis).
