Many many animals are killed now to fight FMD.
These animals are "destroyed" = mass killed for *economical* reasons only.
Other countries have import restrictions on FMD diseased or even vaccinated
meat. They don't want *this* disease at home.

England, Europe wants to export meat (strange enough as the fedder for the
animals comes from other countries).
So the disease has to be fighthed regardless if it costs the live
off 100thousands of animals.
This is the simple reason.

Same with BSE (mad cow disease).
EU has decided to kill and "destroy" 400,000 cattle.
NOT to fight BSE, just to sustain the market *prices*
And 1,2 mio *more* are in danger to be destroyed without sense.

The world is gone mad.
