As I'm certain you already know, your cat is a natural hunter. Unless
you've confined him/her to household existence, he won't go hungry
outside. I have a cat door which allows my cats to come and go as they
please. One cat has a penchant for bringing me "gifts"...that is, the
very few inedible parts from mice, birds and squirrels that he hasn't
already devoured. He's a happy, healthy cat. :)
Or you can buy a blender!
