they are not legumes they are from  Anacardiaceae familly  ( anacardium
giganteum or occidentale.)

it is a ver particular nut that is growing outside of the edible fleshy
fruit that support them. ( cashew apple )
the shell of the nut contains little pockets of very toxic oil that can burn
the skin. they are very delicate to open without spilling the oil everywhere
. It is why the industry used heavy processing with high heat and chemical
solvents.
The indian children are more clever they bury them then come back to eat
them sprouted at the mousson time .
