I go to Britain many years in late summer/early autumn. There are blackberries everywhere. Probably the best I had were at Battle - the site of the battle of Hastings. On my last visit I found lots around the Wandlebury Ring near Cambridge and bucket loads inside Bristol's city limits. If the season is right, you'll find blackberries on most derelict land.
