Good question.  It may depend on how far along the auto-immune
process is.  It may not be an all-or-nothing phenomenon.

I don't have a similar basis for comparison.  If obesity is an
auto-immune condition, as Ray suggests, then paleo has alleviated
it somewhat but not cured it.  But I don't know whether it is an
auto-immune condition in the first place.  If the elevated
cholesterol is a symptom of an auto-immune process, then paleo
has somehow aggravated it, but again I have no idea whether
elevated cholesterol really is related to auto-immune disease.
My chronic gum disease is cleared, but I think that is an
inflammatory process rather than an auto-immune one, although I
could well be mistaken.  I don't have arthritis, MS, lupus, or
any other identified auto-immune condition.
