We have found cherry trees growing along the Scott River in N. Cal. I am
sure they were planted by mining settlers. We prospect for a hobby and come
across many ghost towns where fruit trees have been planted in the 1800's or
early 1900's. Might be worth a trip to visit some of these during the fruit
season.

I think I will gather the apricots next summer and dry them. The wild
strawberries in Colorado are about the size of blueberries, so I can see how
the HG's didn't eat many of those. They are hard to find, hiding down in
the plant close to the ground. It's hard work harvesting them. Wild
raspberries are a bit smaller than what we find in the supermarket, and we
have to get them before the bears do. There are chokecherries there too.
