How much of the hysteria over raw meat is justified?

Is raw beef more "dangerous' than raw pork? or vice versa, or equally safe?

All my friends who eat raw meat do not seem to have a problem, yet it has
been drilled into people so strongly to be hysterically afraid of raw meats.

Is this a hoax like the vaccine hoax? That is the opposite of what we are
told, is true....we are told raw meat is bad for us, yet it is really good???
