I knew something in me had changed ("clicked") when I looked around my
neighborhood and realized that the pigeons, squirrels, and rabbits are
all
very edible (well, theoretically edible. I wouldn't eat these suburban
critters unless I was in a dire situation.)

Being that my husband refuses to kill anything that isn't threatening
our
lives, I can't see a butchering opportunity in my near future, but I
am
apalled by the fact that I wouldn't know what to do with a carcass if
I had
to.

But then I didn't even know how to cook a steak until a few months
ago!
Small steps, albeit beginning with the end.
