Hi Kristina,
I let your message sit for a day to let someone else answer it. Since 
nobody has, leptin is a hormone that regulates appetite (among other 
things) primarily through a part of the brain called the hypothalamus. A 
condition of leptin resistance, similar to insulin resistance, is 
thought to be a contributing factor in obesity.
