We don't.....our bodies can convert veggies into the
sugars we need........fruits are a nice variation in
the summer and fall.......didn't our ancestors store
up nuts and apples and pears and turnips and other
roots in the fall for use over the winter?  In those
climates where snow covered the ground, I mean....
