A grass growing in the water.
Not closely realted to rice.

Used by hunter and gatherers.

Because grown in the wild, more nutritious as
fertilizer/pesticide grain.

Basically it's a grass type seed just like all the others
(wheat, millet, spelt, rye, barley, oats).
May be acceptable under the "no grain" paradigma

I wonder if some wheat or gluten allergic people can handle it.
