These are all possible contributing factors, Mary, but why should
we discount direct laboratory evidence that ketosis increases
free radicals?  That fact seems to explain the observations of
these "pontificating souls" reasonably well, so it seems odd, to
say the least, to reject this information in favor of
hypotheseses for which we have less support.  After all, the
bodies of the Inuit are rather well protected from the cold and
sunlight and wind, as Stefansson goes to some lengths to describe
in _Fat of the Land_.
