Here's a link to his blog:

He does respond personally to many comments posted to his blog 
entries. His blog entries are posted irregularly, varying from one a 
week to one every day or two. You click on the "Read more" link at the 
bottom of the entry, and it expands so that you can see all the 
readers' comments. Then at the bottom of the comments there is a form 
for submitting a new comment. I would just post to the latest entry, 
and not worry about it being completely off-topic. From browsing 
through, it looks like he gets off-topic questions regularly, and 
often responds to them.
